The best-known pieces of Stravinsky's early Russian period are L'Oiseau De Feu (The Firebird) and Le Sacre Du Printemps (The Rite of Spring); Petrushka and Le Rossignol are also major works from this period. In his Neo-Classical period, the Symphonies of Wind Instruments and The Rake's Progress are notable, while his final period is interestingly demonstrated in Elegy for J.F.K., written after the assassination of the president.
