Aristotle does not exactly say that young people are not suited to the study of ethics ,he would certainly think that you should start concerning yourself with ethics from a young age . Hence the focus on education . However he does think that in the case of ethics becoming accomplished is also a matter of experience and not only theory. And since experience is only acquired with time as one grows older it is for this reason that he thinks (quite reasonably ) that by and large young people will not yet have the experience to be accomplished ethically whereas with things like mathematics experience does not seem to required . So in a sense we can get mathematical child prodigies but we cannot get ethical child prodigies because developing ethically takes time. It is not only about knowing what to do but also your whole character being moulded appropriately and that does not happen overnight .
